Assunta Di Lorenzo is a seasoned business lawyer and the founder of ADL LEGAL, a boutique law practice based in Montreal specializing in corporate, commercial, securities, and mergers and acquisitions law.

Assunta’s Practice

Assunta advises clients—including entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized businesses, highly regulated companies, and investors—on the purchase and sale of businesses, strategic alliances, commercial agreements and commercial leases, as well as regulatory compliance and corporate governance.

In addition to her practice at ADL LEGAL, Assunta serves as a contract business lawyer with MT>Align, a division of McCarthy Tétrault LLP.

Professional Experience

​

Assunta’s career combines private practice as a partner at leading national law firms with in-house experience as a senior executive responsible for legal, corporate affairs, real estate, and compliance functions within private companies, public-sector organizations, and Crown corporations. This dual perspective enables her to bring a comprehensive understanding of business considerations to every mandate.

Assunta also has extensive experience advising boards of directors, including through her service as corporate secretary to various organizations.

Professional Qualifications

​

Assunta is a member of the Quebec and Ontario Bars.

​

She holds a law degree from the University of Ottawa, as well as diplomas in Advanced Management Studies and Executive Development from McGill University. She also holds the ICD.D designation, earned through the Institute of Corporate Directors–Rotman Directors Education Program.

Assunta has spoken at industry conferences and contributed to legal publications on matters relating to regulatory compliance and corporate governance.

Her admission to the Bars of Quebec and Ontario enables Assunta to advise clients on multijurisdictional matters involving both provinces.
